Pieces of The Past is a family-owned business started in 1991 by Duane and Cheri Peterson. It is a retail shop that specializes in handcrafted country furniture (manufactured by their "brother" store Country Furniture by Schulers) as well as unique decorating accessories and gifts.

Cheri's parents John and Pat started building this wonderful country furniture out of their home in 1974. The pieces became so popular that business soon exploded. John and Pat are semi-retired now, but the store is in good hands with their sons running the show.

What makes Pieces of The Past's furniture so unique is the wood. Schulers and Pieces of The Past resurrect old barn wood, restore it and build the beautiful furniture out of it. Any wood that is milled today can be chosen for use, but the old barn wood is by far the most popular. One of the great things about the furniture and the company is that Schulers and Pieces of The Past will custom build furniture.
